Summer

I'll admit it. This summer has been unproductive. So to all the parents who want their kids to get a job, go to summer school, or get up every morning for other various reasons: It is okay to sleep in every day and relax. Sure, we should get up and do something productive every once in a while, but we do that every day from August to May. I know you'd probably say, "Oh wait until you have to work. You don't get a summer vacation."
........
This prompts the question: Why would I, a person who has the convenience of a summer break, however temporary it may be, bother to wake up early to be productive. In a few years, I'll have to do that anyway, and not by my own choice. I will be unproductive, and when I decide to be productive, I will do so of my own accord. As a student who just graduated high school and is going to a university in the fall, it is completely and utterly acceptable to be unproductive.

This summer has also been a gas guzzling disappointment. I've been traveling to Brookhaven, Oxford, and Hattiesburg constantly. Also, my family reunion is usually held in Orange Beach, but because of the oil spill, we probably aren't going. Maybe it's time we take a family vacation somewhere else? (I'm all up for Orlando so we can go to Islands of Adventures and go to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.)

So yeah. This has been summer so far. Nothing too terribly interesting has happened. It hasn't been all bad. I've been able to spend lots of time with friends and family, I had a voice lesson with the voice teacher I want to study under at school in the fall, and I got my wisdom teeth out (which meant lots of pudding, smoothies, ice cream, jello, and pain meds.) I have to admit though, the most exciting parts of the summer have happened in Oxford.

I'll try to update more. It shouldn't be too hard, since I have lots of time on my hands. ;)
